Retrospect are making waves in the NZ music scene, establishing their status as one of the very best young bands in Wellington by winning the 2016 and 2017 Smokefree Rockquest Regional Finals. Apollo Music congratulates Retrospect, and is very proud of its students Felix, Ian and Evan. Retrospect's debut EP was released in early 2017. Check out their Smokefree Rockquest video here.

jasper west

Jasper is an exceptionally talented and determined ex-Apollo student who has already released 2 albums. They can be found on Spotify and iTunes, and are well worth the listen. Jasper spent many years fronting the blues-rock band Seagull, and released his debut solo album in 2018, produced by Jake. We can expect great things from Jasper over the coming years!

The Hour-a-day Challenge

In term 2 of 2016, Apollo Music challenged some of its older students to practice for at least an hour a day, every day, for the entire term. Those who could prove that they pulled it off (by weekly video logs and daily spreadsheet updates) were each rewarded with a day of free recording time with Jake. Congratulations to Ian, Ethan and Jasper for putting in the hard yards and meeting the challenge. As well as a great recording, you all have a terms worth of great progress that you’ll have forever.
